Stoney has been in the online marketing industry since 1998, and he explains how SEO used to consist of marketers desiring only one thing: rankings. For the SEO still after rankings, social media’s growing role in recent years means marketers have to consider not only SEO, but social and content optimization. Social signals are taking over link signals, and marketers will see rankings fall over time if they’re not utilizing social media.
