Come one, come all, to the magical city of Chicago! Mid-November marks the return of Search Engine Strategies to Chi-town, and aimClear can’t wait to cruise eastwards across Lake Superior to partake in the festivities. This go-round, aimClear will be represented by our own Marty Weintraub (@aimClear) and Merry Morud (@merrymorud), who will storm the stage to dish up their expert two cents on everything from retargeting to social-savvy ad units.

Remarketing/Retargeting Done Right … and Wrong

Ahh, retargeting: A groovy little advertising option for cunning SEMs that walks the fine line between “talking” and “stalking,” now available in flavors of search and display! But hold up a tick – that fine line is fine indeed… bombard recent site visitors with a barrage of repetitive ads leading to repetitive hard-sell landing pages, and prepare for bitchy-backlash. A softer, more calculating touch is the sure way to win hearts and conversions.

Yes, the key to not freaking out potential customers, but rather, reaching out to them in a meaningful, valuable way, is dependent upon your ability, as a marketer, to discern user intent and serve the right kind of ad to the right kind of person at the right time.
