Twitter and Zeitgeist Research released a study Thursday revealing 8 ways their influential early tech adopters have played a key role in every major technological innovation in the past 10 years. The 3 key takeaways from the study are: 1 – Twitter is a place for early adopters to share experiences in real time. 2 – Tech influencers’ conversation around emerging tech categories on Twitter can be an early indicator of broad category adoption. -Finally, Twitter is a live connection to technology consumers at nearly every point along their purchase decision journey.

ABC News is reporting, Twitter is eyeing the 35 million users in Japan to make money from eager companies ready to use data to, “research retail trends, manage inventory and improve customer service.” You can check out the full story on their site.

Twitter was ranked the #1 social platform Thursday when Facebook & Instagram were reportedly down for several minutes and frustrated users took to Twitter to vent. The hashtag Facebook Down started trending.

Earlier this week Snapchat rolled out 3D stickers for for video on Android and iOS. When you take videos now, you can add emoji’s that use motion tracking to pin to objects. The new feature is strangely addictive and users are finding all sorts of crazy ways to augment the world around them. While it’s just limited to emojis right now, we’re guessing this is just the start of what Snapchat will be using its motion tracking technology for.

Facebook is adding new partners for ad view-ability verification. In an announcement Facebook said, “In the next few months, Nielsen, comScore and Integral Ad Science will start to verify ad view-ability and attention metrics for photo and video ads on Facebook”. This is a proactive step to make sure that Facebook’s data and metrics are being accurately tracked as their ad infrastructure grows.

Facebook has been working to figure out ways pay content creators, and they’re coming up with some pretty creative options. Casey Newton from “The Verge” reported earlier this week that one of those options is a “tip jar”. This way users can beg for change at home without driving their roommates crazy! Other monetization options include: Branded Content, a Sponsor Marketplace, a Donate Option, a Call to Action Button and Ad Revenue Sharing. Revenue is currently the biggest barrier keeping creators from using Facebook for distribution, so we’ll keep an eye on this story as Facebook looks to help users make bank.

Facebook just launched group calling in messenger. Now you can have a conversation with up to 50 of your friends at the same time, which won’t happen because I doubt you’ve actually got 50 real life friends. That being said the group chat feature is pretty cool and let’s people jump in and out of group conversations as they happen.

This is a social marketing service announcement, courtesy of AIMCLEAR: Facebook issued a statement that they’ll be making changes to Power Editor over the weekend, so make sure and publish or export your information to make sure your changes are not lost. Again, publish or export all data to a safe place before this weekend.

LinkedIn is swiping a page out of the Tinder playbook. In an apparent attempt to reach a younger audience, LinkedIn this week launched its newest app, LinkedIn Students. The app is geared toward college kids and uses a Tinder-like swipe platform that makes the platform familiar (for some) and includes tips for improving profiles and job suggestions.

The Official YouTube blog announced that as of April, 18th, creators can now live stream 360 degree video and audio. Audio you say? Yeah, I said it. Now you can see and hear a 360 experience, live, from the comfort of your living room. It’s like going out and exploring the world, without ever having to actually go anywhere. The future is now! For a more in-depth explanation of how this works, hit up the Official YouTube blog.
