We know your brain is packed to the max from conference coverage recap madness, so we’ve compiled a quick top 8 list of key, easily consumable takeaways that will suffoncify your social appetite… while leaving plenty of room for a bountiful Thanksgiving feast. Don’t eat them all at once!

  1. Matt Siltila of Avalaunch Media crushes deck design every conference, at SocialPro it was scary good!

  1. Kicking off the conference keynote, Mary Engle from the FTC and Danny Sullivan, discussed disclosure in the digital age. Audience questions surrounding best practice using #Spon or #Ad to disclose led to the following nugget from Engle:

  1. Facebook representative, Nat Hampson, gave an inside look into Zuckerberg announcing that Facebook is a mobile company. #Zuck saw a trend and 2015 saw the tipping point in that trend when the web influenced more offline sales than non-web.

  1. Instagram is an unstoppable force that entered the paid game on the Facebook targeting train. Marketers need take special interest as Nielson reported ad recall on Instagram is 2.8x higher than all other social channels.

  1. It’s old hat to know how to UTM tag promotional campaigns within the social channels. The golden nugget came when Kevin Mullett revealed how utilizing tools like bit.ly will allow any user to have free and easy access to link traffic. His greatest example was tagging links within presentation decks to track traffic on Slideshare.

  1. You can track development of telegraphs in the Southern US to the spread of popularity in the burrito. There may be a slight correlation versus causation debate here but fun nonetheless PLUS #burritos.

  1. Kevin Mullett closed out the conference with the motherload of nuggets: 170 social tools for any function you may need, ever.

  1. The last piece of knowledge that was dropped packs a one-two punch! Bryan Sise, Product Marketing Team Lead from Twitter and Sahil Jain CEO at AdStage, gave one of the most actionable presentations with Advanced Twitter Ads.

Jain spoke of his work with the Twitter API over the last year and received audible gasps when he revealed that the Twitter API allows AD SETS within campaigns! Those in the room without the holy grail of Twitter integration followed-up with Sise about rolling out the ad set function for all accounts… Delighting marketers across the globe, Sise confirmed the ad set update is coming. Cue Jon Snow meme.
