Welcome back to aimClear’s coverage of SMX Social! We had the opportunity to interview so many speakers at SMX Social this year, both old friends and new ones, and we’re ready to share what we discussed with Apu Gupta, CEO and Co-founder of Curalate.
As the growth of Pinterest continues to explode, having a strategy in place for brands is of the utmost importance. Apu says that most digital marketers see social through the eyes of Facebook, meaning that they have been taught to push out content in order to determine what works best for their brand. In Pinterest and Instagram, however, the vast majority of consumer engagement first comes from consumers saying, “This is what I find interesting.” Brands must do away with just pushing out content and become amazing observers in order to be successful in these visually-oriented platforms.
Consumers don’t care about the brand, they often care more about a specific product. Marketers must figure out what consumers are talking about and share that content if they want to procure a successfully engaged brand page. Watch as Apu shares big picture strategies and provides specific examples for the Pinterest marketer.
Stay tuned! We’ll be back soon with even more video coverage from SMX Social.
