Greetings marketers! We’re back from a fabulous week at #SMX West, San Jose 2011. The sessions and speakers were fantastic. It’s a brave new world of attribution modeling, SEO influencing social signals, international search and a veritable mobile explosion.
After the main conference was over, we rolled out the inaugural edition our very own aimClear® Facebook Marketing Intensive. This full day ticketed program evolved from years of our offering customized social media training to our clients. The room was packed in post-conference intensive terms. The feedback we got from the audience was amazing, as was the audience itself. Dude, y’all were so cool to be with for a day! Read the rest of this entry »

Welcome to aimClear’s coverage of #SMX West 2011! Day 1 is officially over and just like the warm, friendly 60-degree weather here in sunny San Jose, it did not disappoint– brimming with great panel discussions & tip-top presentations– among them, Location Services: The New Local Search.
Gib Olander, director of business development with Localeze; Rodney Hess, account associate with Search Influence; Jason Rupp, director of product management at Ask.com; Chris Travers, president and co-founder of UniversalBusinessListing.org and Ken Norton, senior product manager for Google were at the helm for this one. Each took turns exploring how location services like Foursquare, Gowalla, Yelp and/or mobile apps are changing the local search space indefinitely. aimClear live tweeted this session (via MoCR521)… read on for a full write-up. Hollis Thomases (@hollisthomases) is referred to as, among other things, an award-winning entrepreneur, accomplished author, and total Twitter powerhouse. To me, she’s all of those, as well as a friend. Founder of WebAdvantage.net, a digital media strategy agency, Hollis has been a familiar face on the search marketing circuit for well over a decade. Seasoned and sharp, you’ll often find her (hard to miss with trademark red hair) on an array of industry conference panels, from Holistic Twitter Automation to deep-dives into display marketing.
On the advent of Search Engine Strategies New York (#SESNY), I had the opportunity to share a candid interview with Hollis. Topics spanned the pains & pleasures of social network evolution to work as a writer and upcoming speaking gigs. Fruits of our chat live below the fold. Read the rest of this entry »

Greetings from #SMX West, 2011. The sun has not yet risen over the Mountains, but there is an air of excitement here at the Marriott San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Today kicks off this years edition of West and aimClear is here in force.
Today, I’ll be speaking at 3:45PM PT on the “YouTube Ads for Fun and Profit” panel, moderated by conference Co-Chair Chris Sherman, Executive Editor, Search Engine Land. I’ll have the pleasure of sharing the podium with John Weyand, Managing Director, iProspect New York, iProspect/Range Online Media. I talked with John last night and his material is awesome, not to be missed. I’ll be giving away (that’s right, giving away) a Mozenda extraction agent that powers two utilities aimClear created: “YouTube Promoted Video Squatter Detection” and “YouTube Promoted Video Uncontested Inventory” tools. I’ll also demo radical Ajax suggest box research for YouTube using ScrapeBox. This will be a live tools demo and it’s going to rock. Read the rest of this entry »

Search Engine Strategies has been part of the search marketing conference landscape for over a decade. With a powerhouse trifecta of outstanding speakers, crowds in the thousands, and a three-day agenda of sessions ranging from über techtastic to super social-chic, it’s clear to see why this summit is labeled must-attend for many industry pros.
This year, SES has added a brand new track to the conference agenda: Focus Latino. SES New York, the fourth stop on aimClear’s March Conference Road Trip, will host the debut of the LatinVision Media-sponsored track. Five unique sessions will take place throughout the day, each with a keen focus on Internet marketing to the Latino/Hispanic community. The track will kick off with an Introduction & Opening Keynote, moving into morning and afternoon sessions Reaching Latinos Through SEO, Search & Social Marketing to Latinos: Roundtable, Analytics for the Latino Markets, and finally, Improved Conversions With Web Site Optimization.
I had the pleasure of sharing an interview with one of the marketers behind the much-anticipated Focus Latino track, Paul Lima (@Paul__Lima). Paul, founder of Lima Consulting Group, will take the stage on several panels throughout Day 2 of SES NY. Read on for the fruits of our Q&A. Read the rest of this entry »
