While search technology naturally evolves, we must also recognize that human’s usage, expectations & desires for search are evolving as well. As marketers learn to leverage the information, tools & channels available now, we need to be cognizant and welcoming of the evolving search trends on tomorrow’s horizon. Who should be playing catchup, search technology or the human brain?
Search Engine Strategies San Francisco invited three bleeding-edge thought leaders to examine the question, Search: Where to Next? The attentive SESSF audience were treated to a mix of marketer’s, toolmaker’s, user’s & search engine’s perspective on the shape of search to come. Moderating this discussion was Graham Mudd, Vice President of Search & Media at comScore.

Accepting that the beginning of the end of summer is on the horizon can be a drag. It’s times like these we must do everything within our power to totally rock the house… and what better way than with techies, brews and tapas?
Next week, online marketers from around the world are expected to flock to *crosses fingers* sunny San Francisco to attend Search Engine Strategies. Some come to share insider tips & techniques, some come to soak up new knowledge, or network with luminaries, or gain prospective clients… but when all’s said and done, we’re there to party.
Sensitive to this innate urge to cut loose after a long day of chowing on SEO, PPC & social media brain food, aimClear’s Marty Weintraub and PPC Expert David Szetela (Clix Marketing) plan to serve up some actual food. Oh, and booze. Announcing SchmoozeFest #SESSF 2010, Tapas & Beer Edition, baby!

We’ve noted from previous industry events including SES San Jose, SMX West and SMX East that end of Day 2 is the best time to nurture attendees’ fried brains with snacks and adult beverages. This year’s edition is co-sponsored by our friends at Apogee Results, an Austin, TX search marketing firm.

Search Engine Strategies is one of those industry events that draws a diverse crowd, representing a variety of verticals and job titles. Some concepts apply directly to niche marketers while others offer tremendous value across the entire industry. Web analytics are one such concept that provide awesome insight no matter your KPI, product, target audience or marketing technique. Community managers and social media directors covet concrete numbers they can show the C-suite to help them sleep at night.

Next week at #SESSF, aimClear’s
Marty Weintraub will speak alongside
Tami Dalley, Director, User Experience Optimization, ROI Labs and Matthew Bailey, SES Advisory Board & President, Site Logic Marketing on Tuesday afternoon’s
Deep Dive Into Analytics: When Bounce Rate No Longer Floats Your Boat session. We had the pleasure of sharing a candid interview with Tami prior to the event to get her insight on… er… insights

.
Here’s what she had to say. Read the rest of this entry »

Last October during a mundane office cleaning, the aimClear team happened upon an epically rad relic of the 80′s… a black & white 36×48 inch relic, to be more precise. Publication of The Lost Marty Weintraub Rockstar Pictures gave new meaning to the tongue and cheek “PPC rockstar” and “Social Media rockstar” verbiage that had been lobbed at Marty in the past.
