		<description>Nice article.  I think there are a couple of reasons why &quot;bad&quot; press ranks so high in the SERPs.  

1.  Sometimes the &quot;bad&quot; press or review helps protect the end-user.  I&#039;m not saying that search engines have an algorithm to detect these things, but I don&#039;t look at these &quot;bad&quot; reviews as being bad for the public.
2.  Often, the articles that rank high are featured on sites with authority, so they naturally rank well.</description>
