New Series: Avatar Theory, Common Social Media Participation Models

Beginning next week, in a series of aimClearBlog posts, we’ll be exploring common social media user-participation models. Considering how deeply social media engagement permeates human culture, there is a remarkable lack of consensus regarding appropriate use of avatars for corporate brand ambassadors, personal and other agendas.

For the uninitiated, an “avatar” simply speaks to how a person, company or other group of people represent themselves online. This can include pictures & video shared, content tagged and bookmarked, friends made, votes cast, dialog, style, self-description, activity in “walled garden forums” (not indexed by Google), purpose, transparency, role and objectives, etc… Read the rest of this entry »

Mobile and Local are tied at the hip, but up until recently the tools weren’t up to the task. But with advent of the iPhone however, all that is changing.

Besides making iPhone a great productivity tool (not to mention GORGEOUS eye candy), Apple has opened up third party application development.

aimclearMany thanks to our corp of bloggers this week in San Jose. Specifically, great job to Todd Mintz, Jennifer Osborne and Charlene Jaszewski and to Matt, Manny, Laura, Nam and Kat back at the office.

There’s noticeably cache’ of additional content these guys (in the androgynous) cranked out, which we’ll share over the next week.  In the mean time, there’s plenty of terrific coverage out there– including my favorites, SEORoudtable and TopRank.
