This is a problem we face since SEM/SEO is not scalable all the way and is very niche dependent. The industry itself is changing quicker than anything and potential clients can be unreasonable with unrealistic expectations. Through proper analysis and detailed proposals, a mutual agreement can be met. Thanks for the tips none-the-less.

Nice recap! Pricing and business model discussions are definitely critical to think about when considering the success (or failure) of an SEM consulting business.

Curious if anyone talked about how their pricing models may have changed or evolved as their respective companies matured?
