smxWell it’s the morning after SMX Social Media New York 2007 and I feel like a cigarette even though I totally don’t smoke. It was very cool to be live-blogging as part of the SMX press corps which featured some of my favorite writers including Kim Krause & Barry Schwartz (SEO RoundTable Recap ) Eric Lander, SearchEngineJournal Wrap Up, and Vanessa Fox (SearchEngineLand Roundup).

It was a pleasure getting to know so many industry folks better. I’ve been running across many of you a lot online and in person over the last year. I particularly enjoyed time spent chatting with Matt McGee, Chris Winfield, Brian Wallace, Derek Edmond, Rand Fishkin, Danny Sullivan, Claire Schoen, and Third Door Media President Chris Elwell. This intimate venue provided plenty of opportunity for exchanging ideas, anecdotes and becoming better acquainted. The IM-NY party on Monday night was a fabulous kick-off.

There were also a number of conference attendees and speakers blogging the show including TopRankBlog (Official Media Sponsor), WebProNews, SquareOak, AltSearchEngine, Tamar, and SearchMarketingGurus. From 3000 miles away Lyndon put together another cool list of SMX bloggers and posts.

The professional search marketing community is an incredibly tight-knit group and it’s an honor to be a part of such a vital industry. We’ll see you back in Minnesota aimClearBlog readers. Everybody travel safely.

Tamar it’s a different, albeit lovely, name. I’m sure you’re used to folks messing it up. I really enjoyed the time spent getting to know you.

  • Kim Krause Berg

Your funny, lively, spontaneous, warm personality was a real delight to be around, Marty. Anyone who makes me laugh so much is high on my FRIENDS list. I look forward to live blogging with you in the future and btw, thank you for showing me cool tricks on MSWord 2007.

Marty – great to finally meet in person and I really enjoyed reading your session recaps (and blog in general).

FYI – you reversed the hyperlinks to Brian and my websites (and there is a slight URL error on my intended one).

  • Marty Weintraub

Thanks, I’ll fix the links buddy!
