Search Marketing Conferences Rock! SES San Jose 2007 Coverage Kick Off
Greetings from SES San Jose 2007 which takes place beginning tomorrow morning here in lovely Northern California. On a personal note, tonight we’re stuffed to the gills with killer Dim Sum from San Francisco’s famed Chinatown. While I’m more of a New Yorker at heart, the Bay Area is certainly splendid in it’s cultural diversity. Early this morning downtown San Francisco was blanketed in a foggy mist which was romantic indeed.
Search Marketing Conferences Rock!
There’s nothing more stimulating, enjoyable, and informative than these types of events where we have the opportunity to network, study, share, and ummm… party with our search marketing compatriots. Rock star SEO speakers offer current information and prognosticate. Search engine representatives vacillate between algorithmic clarification and mystical sound bytes. The people watching and sheer velocity of this gathering are incredible. It’s a total immersion think-tank intensive action packed 3 days of Über cool search marketing Zen. (photo from SES website)
Search Engine Strategies conferences are divided each day into “Tracks” which focus on specific aspects of search marketing across four 1.5 hour long seminars. From Monday to Thursday attendees may elect to follow the prescribed series of seminars which comprise each Track or skip from one to another. On Friday six “training” sessions are offered, a half day each, and spanning 3 different Tracks.
Conference at a Glance
The Tracks which comprise the first day (Monday) @ this year’s SES San Jose are the Fundamentals Track, Searcher Track, Advertiser Track, Contextual Track, and ClickZ Track. Tomorrow we’ll report from the sessions we attend and highlight other bloggers covering the conference.
I Swear the Parties are Work Too!
The glitzy SES after hours parties are largely comprised these days of private shindigs at which clients meet vendors, vendors schmooze agencies, and search marketers mingle with peers. That said there are also sponsored gatherings open to any attendee. Here’s a list:
August 20: “Search is Right Night” SEMP event taking place at San Jose Convention Center, Room B
August 21: Networking Reception taking place in the Exhibit Hall
August 21: AOL Search Lunch
August 21: Google Dance 2007: This will be my first Google Dance and I understand that watching all the SEOs get bombed is quite a spectacle.
August 21: Ask.com CEO Keynote conversation
August 22: Marissa Mayer, Vice President, Search Products & User Experience at Google Keynote “Conversation”
August 22: Search Bash WebmasterRadio.FM (Click to RSVP.)
